Abstract

Kumluca district of Antalya is the most important greenhouse production area of Turkey. For agricultural production thousands of tons of pesticides are used in the region. The aim of this research is to determine the level of deltamethrin resistance of five housefly strains from Kumluca district. Moderate resistance level was determined in four strains (Adrasan, Guzoren, Mavikent and Yesilkoy) and high resistance level was determined in one strain (Baleikli) of houseflies in this region. We suggest that in agricultural areas where pesticides are used extensively the resistance status of pests should be constantly monitored.
