TÜBİTAK Projesi, 2025 - 2025
This project
explores the cultural meanings and understandings of Adventure Education (AE)
in Norwegian and Turkish contexts, aiming to propose a culturally adapted AE
program for Turkey. Recognizing the broad and diverse concept of adventure,
the study emphasizes the importance of cultural relevance in AE, especially
given the predominance of Western perspectives in existing literature. Using
a qualitative research design, the project will employ in-depth interviews,
focus group discussions, and document analysis to gather data from AE
participants and leaders in Norway and Turkey. The study will also include
expert opinions from Norwegian academics to develop an AE program tailored to
Turkish culture. Data collection will begin in Turkey, followed by Norway, to
facilitate comparative analysis and program development. The findings will
provide insights into cultural norms, values, and practices influencing AE,
enabling the creation of a more inclusive and effective program. This project
aims to enhance the cultural sensitivity of AE programs, inform policymakers
and curriculum developers, and promote cross-cultural understanding in the
field of AE. |
