Dr. Kerim Kürşat ÇEVİK was born in Karaman, Turkey, in 1985. He received his B.S. degree in Electronics and Computer Sciences from Süleyman Demirel University in 2007, and his M.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2016) degrees in Computer Engineering from Selçuk University. He began his academic career as a lecturer at Niğde University in 2009, becoming an Assistant Professor in 2017. He joined the Department of Management Information Systems at Akdeniz University in 2018 and received the title of Associate Professor in 2021.
With over 15 years of experience in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, Dr. Çevik recently completed a tenure as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), focusing on real-time automated tissue perfusion tracking systems.
His research interests center on advanced hybrid models (such as Swin Transformers and U-Net) applied to biomedical imaging, agriculture, and management sciences. He currently teaches courses in AI, image processing, and machine learning. Dr. Çevik serves as a peer reviewer for top-tier journals and has authored numerous publications with over 600 citations and an h-index of 13.
